This week’s Monday Motivation quote comes from Helen Keller: “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” With that in mind, we are wishing you a week full of hope and confidence in pursuit of whatever you hope to achieve! Perhaps you will include joining (or, for so many of our readers, continuing in) the fight against human trafficking on your list of achievements for the week. Here are three suggestions for actions you can take towards that goal:

  1. Check out CNN’s Freedom Project for more stories on the different forms of human trafficking around the world. They have a wealth of videos and articles that spotlight what modern day slavery really looks like globally in the present day.
  2. Buy products that support survivors. Home goods and fashion items from To The Market, jewelry from NightLight, and body care products from Thistle Farms are just a few examples of social enterprises that employ survivors, giving them a viable and sustainable income stream.
  3. Sign up for our newsletter to continue your learning and to stay in touch with TAT as we continue to partner in the fight against human trafficking. Our next newsletter will go out at the beginning of July, so be sure to sign up now!

Hopefully these action items motivate you to play a part in combating human trafficking- because we all can! Whether it’s taking one of the steps above, or simply staying vigilant to potential signs of trafficking in your everyday life as you encounter and interact with others, thank you for joining the movement to end trafficking. Happy Monday!
