DESCRIPTION:The FDP will be attending the National Truck Driving Championship – NTDC this year in Indianapolis\, Indiana from August 21st – 24th. \nThe National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) is a competition of professional truck drivers hosted each year by the American Trucking Associations. \nThis competition has a long history – dating back to 1937 when it was known as the National Truck Rodeo. The NTDC competitors are made up of the winners in eight classes of competition from 50 State Trucking Associations’ Truck Driving Championships.  During the TDC and NTDC competition\, each driver has a chance to demonstrate his or her driving and inspection skills\, knowledge and professionalism through a series of tests. The Freedom Drivers Project (FDP) is a first-of-its-kind mobile exhibit that is a premiere tool for educating the general public (highlighting those in the transportation industry) about the realities of domestic sex trafficking. From its outside wrap to the climate-controlled interior\, which includes a theatre station\, actual artifacts from trafficking cases that connect people to the back stories of so many who end up enslaved\, to portraits of the real Truckers Against Trafficking and how each is working to end human trafficking\, this tractor trailer provides many with their first glimpse into human trafficking\, as well as simple action steps anyone can take immediately walking out of it.  \nCurrent partners include the Fulton County Juvenile Court\, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office\, Clerk’s Office\, and Solicitor’s Office\, as well as Atlanta CASA and the Truancy Intervention Project. \nThe Freedom Drivers Project will be open to the public for tours.
