OVERLAND PARK, Kan. —A recent FBI sting recovered four children in Kansas from a sex trafficking ring, two from the Kansas City metropolitan area and two from Wichita.

Johnson County’s Sunflower House works to help children who have sexual exploitation and other traumatic incidents in their past.
Two people who have survived experiences in sex trafficking are sharing their stories, warning people that it can happen to anyone and can start in the most innocent ways.

Brooke Axtell said her experience started when she was 7 years old.

“I was entrusted to a nanny who was a sexual predator. He sexually assaulted me, he forced me into child pornography and sold me to other men for sex,” she said.

John Price said his pimp was his own birth father.
