36 people were arrested in the area over the last two days, following a human trafficking investigation in North Georgia and East Tennessee.
Investigators say those people attempted to have sex illegally, many of them with children.
“The first objective was to identify potential victims of human trafficking, while targeting persons who attempted to purchase illicit sex. The second objective was to identify individuals searching for sex with minors online,” TBI director Mark Gwyn said.
GBI Director Vernon Keenan said most offenders are selling or buying sex over the internet.
